It took me a whole two minutes to hang up the new calendar. Hopefully this will give you an idea of how you can reuse the treasury tags
It is green with navy blue treasury tags, screen printed on sturdy card and it comes with sticky velcro to hang it with. Ready to organise your holidays, weekends away and sport trips. It is like early Christmas, last week the calendar and this week the long awaited (if only by me) recipe posters. I have done a very quick collection of photos, to start sharing them. I never knew our run down front seat could be so beautiful. More on the posters later. The wild front garden turned out to be the ideal outdoor studio
A long wait and a slightly disappointing appearance of QuirkyLime I am still proud to let you see the first ever Etsy TV add ..
The magazine Mollie makes, was also there filming and made a nice little video of it here. I think I have to point out where I am in the ad otherwise you will never see me!
I think the add is really good, i love the atmosphere they are creating. All together it wasa fantastic experience, the best part was meeting the other makers. I was featured yesterday, together with the other 67 makers, (chosen from 1200) on EtsyUK facebook with some photos of the day:
Last week was an exciting week. The previous week I had submitted an Instagram photo to enter an Etsy competition to be featured on their first ever TV advertisement. I entered these two photos:
On Sunday I got the message I was picked of 1200 entries and would be 1 of 50 makers to be part of the ad. See all the entries were pretty diverse. Hugely excited I went to London on Wednesday for a days filming. The best part by far, was meeting other like minded people. Luckily the weather was great as the ad took an amazing long time to shoot. I am not allowed to share any photos yet apart from these two Etsy has given us:
This dog had 3 clothes changes from a bridal outfit to this coat. The clothes were by one of the makers in the ad. We on the other hand had to repeat one action for 5 hours, though I am convinced the ad will be very cool. The selection of products was amazingly diverse from clothes, headwear, teatowels, yarn to jewellery, painted glass and pillows. I met some great people who are way ahead of what I am hoping to achieve, but also people who are like me juggling everything. More than anything I realised I can do it too and also how Etsy as a sales platform will really help (and how I have underused it).
The ad will be out this summer and I hope it will give QuirkyLime a real boost. The add itself? I think you might be lucky if you spot me at all. I hope the bright colourful posters will be visible. When you see the add you will know what I mean.
One of people I met there was Jules, she has a little vintage shop in Oxford. She has posted a blog about it. I hope to visit her shop soon as it looks great and some Don't lose the Plot posters would look great too!
Last August we started with the save the date card for Charlie & Lynsey's wedding. We all printed it together, everybody was really hands on, which is so cool with screen printing. You can pull your own cards. you feel the ink on the card and you have to feel proud of the outcome, a manual connection is still possible!
This month I created the invites, we used the same textured mount card as the initial save the date card. The super logo of their wedding venue, really lends itself to be screen printed.
The Port Elliot elephants were used on the envelopes too.
The stickers were printed by moo.com
I have been working towards this for a long time, well long as available time was limited. But there they hang on the hotspot wall in Ginger Two. We hang them up last night and they will hang them there for one month, after holidays we will regroup and see what the feedback is and see if any will sell. Like me, Jane thinks the little ones will do better. I have sold one already, I have massive hopes and big wishes but lacking confidence so far that they will sell. But now that is out, I need to move on the my next project: the recipes and some cards. So the coat hanger tree has gone down well with a lot of people. I have even made a proffesional Christmas card for the architects AR design studio. We added some 'headballs' and it looked great. AR studio tickled the image up and it was a fantastic recession proof card! For more on this card visit my working studio website SOON.
